ALMA Cycle 5 Call for Proposals

The ALMA Cycle 5 call for proposals is now open and will run to the deadline on 20th April 2017 (1500UT). Cycle 5 observations will start in October 2017 and continue for 12 months, with 4000 hours of 12m time and 3000 hours of ACA time available. The key dates and advertised capabilities are provided in the ALMA Cycle 5 CfP announcement. The UK ARC Node staff are available via the ALMA Helpdesk to answer any proposal and observing related questions you may have.

ALMA OST Version 5.0

We are pleased to announce the release of the OST version 5 for the ALMA Cycle 5 Call for Proposal period. Version 5.0 includes the ten Cycle 5 antenna configurations (and one ACA configuration) along with other improvements and bug fixes. Additionally, version 5.0 now allows users to upload their own pointing file (in CASA format), to create mosaics with arbitary geometries. Please see the pointing section of the OST help for more information on this new feature, particular pointing file formatting and noise/sensitivity considerations.

The ALMA OST can be accessed from http://almaost.jb.man.ac.uk. (Please be sure to clear your browser cache to make sure you get the new version.)
