Video about the Wideband Sensitivity Upgrade Released

The European Southern Observatory (ESO) has released a new video about the Wideband Sensitivity Upgrade (WSU). This is a major initiative to greatly advance ALMA’s observing capabilities by increasing the bandwidth of all receivers by at least 2x and in some cases 4x. This will permit for achieving improved sensitivity levels in continuum observations as well as faster spectral scan observations. Watch the ESO video to get more introductory information about what will be happening with the upgrade.

Cycle 11 Phase 2 Preparations

At this point in time, work has started on the Phase 2 preparation for Cycle 11 proposals that received A, B, or C grades. Principal Investigators should review their proposals to ensure that all aspects of the observations, including the field coordinates and the spectral setup, match what they need. If any adjustments need to be made to the observations, please contact the UK ARC Node via the Helpdesk as soon as possible.
